A video about dealing with living in the time of catastrophes. I borrowed a form of “affirmation” – short, abstract sentence with positive content which helps the reader to introduce a positive mindset. Affirmations are twisted into poetic probings into the current times, turning them into little poems. The video is made to be lush, appealing and calming, as is the desired effect of affirmations, but hides a second layer of forest fires, flash floods and street riots.
Rupi Kaurcrash was commisioned for Luhovaný Vincent 2022, an independent art and cinema festival in the lovely spa town of Luhačovice.
